Malatan-og Falls

Ask anyone who's lived in Manila and traveled on package tours about Malatan-og Falls and you'll just get a blank stare. Malatan-what? It's like a riddle: how come this place is so obscured to many, yet clearly deserves an hour-long airplay in lifestyle-traveling show (calling LivingAsia)? It's probably a marketing ploy (or non-thereof) to keep this treasure unknown but this breath taking haven deserves an award. This falls, also called Cigarette Falls, has been a subject of photographs...and location spot for prenup sessions among Negrense couples. It can be found in Don Salvador town, about 2-hour ride from Bacolod City. Don Salvador is a sleepy municipality atop a mountain. It's chilly weather is similar to that of Tagaytay or Baguio. People are nice and it's guaranteed pollution-free! A welcome respite for backpackers who are seeking to commune with nature.
